FAHRENHEIT BLUES, USA. A variety by Tom Wagner. Indeterminate, mid-season, productive, and highly resistant to diseases, including late blight. The fruits are red with intense blue pigmentation. They have an excellent mildly sweet flavor and a bright, pleasant aroma. Each cluster holds 8–16 fruits. The flesh is red. The fruits can be completely covered in a purple-black hue.
This is the earliest of all blue tomatoes — fruits were ready for harvest as early as July 13! Extremely early ripening, considering the tall plant height of 1.7 meters. Sets fruit without gaps and is highly productive! The clusters are simple, with 5–7 fruits per cluster, each weighing 20–25 grams. And there are countless clusters! Initially, the fruit is green-ink colored, then turns completely inky black.
As it ripens, it becomes inky-chocolate near the stem, while the bottom turns red. The tomato is very sweet, juicy, and flavorful, with a light fruity note. Provides a steady harvest from the beginning of the season until the first frosts! Super productive! Highly recommended!
BLUE TOMATO VARIETIES:
Blue or purple tomatoes stand out with their unusual color, caused by a high content of anthocyanins — pigments also found in blueberries and eggplants. These tomatoes not only look striking but also have antioxidant properties beneficial to health. Some popular blue tomato varieties include:
-
Indigo Rose – one of the first blue-colored varieties, known for its sweet flavor.
-
Blue Beauty – large fruits with deep blue color and excellent taste.
-
Blue Gold – beautiful golden-blue fruits that are juicy and sweet.
