FIERY SPEAR. A new variety developed by Sofia Saakova. A mid-season variety with a very rare and unusual fruit shape that perfectly matches its striking name. In the open field, the plant grows to approximately 1.5 m tall and has a thin, slender habit with long, drooping leaves. The variety has good, above-average productivity and, with proper care, is capable of producing a large number of beautiful fruits. The fruits are unusual, elongated, with deep longitudinal ribs running across the entire surface and a distinctive pointed, extended tip. Their shape resembles opening tulip buds or unusual pink crests. The color is bright fiery crimson, complemented by expressive stripes.
Each truss usually produces 4–5 fruits, and according to the breeder’s observations, their weight can reach 400–500 g, although fruits weighing around 100–200 g were also recorded at the breeding stage. The tomatoes are just as attractive inside as they are on the outside. The flesh is bright, aromatic, very meaty and juicy, with a delicate texture that practically melts in the mouth. It is not firm or tough and has a pleasant, rich flavor with excellent juiciness. There are very few seed chambers and seeds, so the fruits contain an especially large proportion of dense, flavorful flesh — this is precisely why only a small amount of seeds is obtained from the fruits.
