FRED SGDB. A rare and truly impressive variety with an interesting modern history. It was accidentally discovered in 2013, after which it was carefully developed and stabilized by Francis Corroyer in the town of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (SGDB), France. The variety is tall, mid-season, the plants are powerful, vigorous, reaching a height of up to 1.8 meters. The bushes are distinguished by strong growth, good foliage, and the ability to form a large number of large fruits. Requires staking and shaping, but fully justifies the care with outstanding yield.
The fruits are large, weighing from 200 to 470 grams, with a very attractive color — a green base with a red, bronze, or pinkish hue that can vary depending on growing conditions. Externally, the tomatoes look spectacular and unusual, immediately attracting attention in the garden bed and when cut. The flesh is a true work of art: multicolored, marbled, with a combination of green, pink, and red tones. The consistency is dense, juicy, meaty.
The taste is complex, rich, multifaceted, with a harmonious balance of sweetness and a light refreshing acidity — the variety is clearly aimed at gourmets and connoisseurs of non-standard flavors. Is considered one of the most productive varieties in its group, consistently forms abundant clusters, and delights with prolonged fruiting.
