FRODO. A new promising tomato of Polish breeding, distinguished by early ripening, high yield, and excellent marketable qualities. Height in open ground — 50 cm. The variety belongs to the early ones: the period from planting seedlings to the start of harvest is only 60-75 days, making it especially valuable for obtaining early production. The plants are very powerful, sturdy, with a well-developed root system, resistant to fruit load. The bushes are literally covered with fruits, ensuring a consistently high and uniform harvest. The variety shows excellent results both in open ground and in greenhouses.
The fruits are medium-sized, weighing 40-80 g, have an elongated cylindrical shape, uniform, dense, and strong. The skin is smooth, well-colored, intensely red, resistant to cracking even under unfavorable weather conditions. The tomatoes tolerate transportation and long-term storage well without loss of marketable appearance. The flesh is deep red, dense, with 2-3 seed chambers, without excessive wateriness. The stem lacks a joint, easily separates from the fruit, making the variety suitable for mechanical harvesting — an important advantage for farms.
In terms of taste qualities, the fruits have a classic tomato taste with pleasant sweetness, well-balanced and universal. The variety is ideally suited for whole-fruit canning, pickling, marinating, as well as for various tomato preparations. Thanks to the dense flesh, the tomatoes retain their shape and structure after heat treatment. This is a reliable, very high-yielding variety with an excellent combination of early ripening, transportability, and universal purpose, which is equally well suited both for private gardens and for commercial cultivation.
