FUEGO ROSA, USA. One of the earliest and largest plum-shaped tomato varieties. The plant reaches up to 1.8 meters in height in open ground and has a slightly drooping growth habit, yet it easily supports the heavy clusters of large fruits. Starting from the second cluster, the tomatoes become significantly larger—reaching palm size and weighing 220–280 g, with some even heavier.
Each cluster typically contains 5–7 fruits. The flavor is sweet with a mild tang, fruity and not overly sugary. The skin is a soft pink color adorned with golden and amber stripes and marbling. The flesh is deep red, meaty yet juicy, with large seed chambers. The fruit appearance is firm, rich pink with orange-green streaks.
A major advantage is that the fruits do not crack and store well. Perfect for both canning and fresh consumption. This variety is highly productive and reliably fruitful. Even reinforced side shoots (suckers) produce fruit, delivering a near-continuous harvest! The tomatoes are dense, juicy, notably sweet, and incredibly flavorful. One of the top performers in yield!
