GARGAMEL, USA. A tall, mid-season, medium-yielding variety. The fruits are red-purple with orange highlights — truly beautiful! Each weighs around 100 g. Inside, they are red, very juicy, fleshy, multi-chambered, with medium-thick walls and lots of seeds. Classic tomato flavor, nothing exotic. Perfect for fresh use, salads, processing, and canning.
Breeder: Phil Seneca. The variety is named after the villain Gargamel from the cartoon The Smurfs, who wore a black cloak and red shoes — just like the fruit’s colors. Mid-season, low-leaf, striking anthocyanin expression. Bush reaches about 1.3 m tall outdoors, with 5–6 fruits per cluster. Fruit shape ranges from oval to round plum.
Firm, juicy, meaty, with a rich flavor! There's a slight tang, but sweetness dominates. Very productive and visually stunning — one of the most beautiful varieties. Highly recommended. Top marks for appearance!
