GERANIUM KISS. Variety author – Alan Kapuler. A long-known and beloved dwarf mid-season variety with a compound truss. The bush grows only 0.5–0.7 meters tall in open ground, determinate and strong. The plant is sprawling, with drooping stems, taking up a lot of space. There are more trusses than leaves, and each complex truss holds 30–50 fruits weighing 30–50 grams.
A medium- and low-growing, mid-season, super-productive (in quantity) variety. Notable for its huge fruit trusses. The plant is fairly compact, but each truss may hold 50–100 flowers and ovaries. Neat little fruits with a “nipple” tip, classic tomato flavor, look beautiful in canning, very dense and shelf-stable, can remain on the bush for a long time. Not all flowers set fruit at the same time.
YIELD AND USE:
Fruit ripening extends until frost. Frequent harvesting significantly increases yield and improves flavor. For enhanced sweetness and taste, it's best to harvest occasionally. We sometimes harvest just once at season’s end. That's when we taste them during picking. Maybe not the best method, but walking through a tomato field with hundreds of varieties, you get your fill of tasting well before reaching the middle.
The yield is no less than that of tall varieties, and the fruits are of perfect market quality! Shape – plum with a pointed tip, thick walls, almost crunchy, dense flesh. Ideally harvested as whole trusses. Shelf-stable, bright, tasty and sweet with a delicate tang! We recommend it as one of the most productive plum varieties for preserving and canning.
