GERMAN QUEEN. A medium-maturing, high-growing, high-yielding tomato variety. A real family heirloom. Variety which would have originated in Kentucky. Offered to the Seed Savers Yearbook in 1991. This variety belongs to the category of so-called "family heirlooms" - passed from generation to generation of cultivated plants with unique taste and appearance characteristics. The seeds were purchased directly from USA, which confirms its authentic origin.
The plant is powerful, indeterminant type, in the open ground reaches a height of up to 2 meters. The bush is strong-growing, requires mandatory gartering and shaping (usually in 1-2 stems). Potato-type leaf, large, rich green color - a characteristic feature of the variety, giving the bush a decorative look. Fruits are large, weighing from 250 to 650 g, individual specimens under favorable conditions can even reach 700-800 g.
TASTING AND YIELD
The shape of the fruit is rounded-flat, the surface is smooth, with a slight fluting at the stalk. The color is deep pink, sometimes with a crimson tinge. The flesh is incredibly fleshy and juicy, there are few seed chambers and few seeds. A distinctive feature of the variety is its exceptional flavor. According to our own observations, this tomato deserves 5 points out of 5 - it is so good: the flavor is rich, bright, saturated, sweet, with a slight fruity note.
Ideal for fresh consumption, salads, juice and tomato sauces. A true gourmet tomato for those who value flavor above all else. Yield is high and stable. From one plant can be collected from 4 to 6 kg of large, high-quality fruits. The variety is well adapted to growing in the open ground, but feels great in the greenhouse. Resistant to major tomato diseases with proper care and prevention.
