LONDON GIANT. A tall, mid-season sweet pepper variety of collection origin from the United Kingdom. The period from germination to maturity is about 120 days, and from transplanting seedlings to the beginning of fruiting — 70-75 days. Suitable for growing in open ground and film greenhouses. The plant is vigorous, well-developed, about 0.9 m tall, forming a compact, dense bush abundantly laden with fruits. It is characterized by disease resistance and stable yield in various conditions.
The fruits are very large, elongated-conical in shape, sometimes with a blunt or slightly pointed tip, 18-20 cm long and up to 10-12 cm wide. The average weight is about 300 g. The color at technical ripeness is dark green, and when fully ripe, a rich dark red. The flesh is very thick-walled (1-1.5 cm), fleshy, and juicy. The taste is sweet, rich, and aromatic. The fruits are excellent for fresh consumption, baking, stuffing, and processing. The variety is valued for its large fruit size, flavor, and reliability.
