GLACIER. An ultra-early, medium-height, highly productive variety with a long fruiting period and potato leaves. It was the first to give most of its harvest in the shortest time. It amazed us by producing many excellent-quality fruits right before the frost. Fruit production is very extended – from ultra-early to late season.
The fruits are quite firm, do not rot or crack, not tough, juicy, low in acidity, sweet, highly aromatic, and pleasantly resilient. An excellent tomato for market and canning – the fruits stay on the plants for a long time without losing quality or over-ripening. Wonderful flavor from the first tasting in an otherwise bland year.
Each cluster holds 6 to 8 fruits. A reliable variety that won’t let you down in any weather and will provide fruit all summer long until frost. Rare productivity and resistance to all weather troubles, even in cold regions with short seasons.
FEATURES OF THE GLACIER VARIETY
An ultra-early tomato in the "plant and forget" category. The plant reaches up to 1.3 meters tall in open ground, broad and sturdy. Even if it falls over without support, it continues growing well in the grass. Potato-leaf type, super early development and fruiting. In 2022, this was the first variety we started eating from June 12.
Clusters are full, 8–10 fruits, all identical, weighing 60–65 grams. Fruits are round, bright red, without green shoulders, and ripen fully. Ideal market appearance, dense flesh. Rich, aromatic, juicy, and very tasty flavor, with sweetness prevailing. Excellent flesh quality.
SIMILAR VARIETIES
Lately, due to our busy schedule, tomatoes that grow with little to no care have gained popularity. These varieties tolerate heat, lack of watering, no weeding or tying. You plant them at the cottage and come once a week to harvest. After all, not everyone can tend to tomatoes daily. These are usually short or determinate plants, up to 1 meter tall.
