GOLD RUSH CURRANT. This variety belongs to the so-called currant tomatoes — a group most closely related to the wild ancestors of cultivated tomatoes. These tomatoes got their name due to the resemblance of their fruits to currant berries: similarly small, round, and arranged in long clusters. A distinguishing feature of such tomatoes is their high yield and resistance to unfavorable growing conditions.
An early-ripening, indeterminate (tall, up to 1.8 m in open ground) variety known for its impressive productivity even in poor conditions. In controlled yield measurements, the productivity is astonishing: each plant can produce a vast number of fruits. The bushes are strong and densely foliated, with remarkably long clusters bearing up to 40–50 bright yellow or yellow-orange tiny tomatoes.
The fruits are small, weighing only a few grams (usually 5 to 10), but boast a rich flavor: very sweet, with an intense tomato aroma and thin skin. This variety is not only ornamental thanks to its elegant clusters but also extremely unpretentious, disease-resistant, and thrives both in open ground and greenhouses. Especially suitable for children's nutrition, whole-fruit canning, and dish decoration.
