GOLOVA NEGRA. A tall, indeterminate tomato variety with unusual dark fruits and a rich flavor. The plants are vigorous and well-leaved, reaching approximately 1.5–2 m in height under favorable conditions. They require staking and regular removal of excess side shoots. For easier maintenance and a good harvest, the plants are usually trained to one or two stems.
The fruits are flat-round, sometimes with slight ribbing around the stem end. Their color ranges from chocolate and dark brown to reddish mahogany, often with darker greenish shoulders near the stem. The tomatoes typically weigh around 150–300 g, although some specimens can reach 350–400 g. Their unusual coloring makes them particularly attractive and eye-catching.
The flesh is meaty and juicy, with a rich flavor and a pleasant, classic tomato aroma. Sweetness predominates, complemented by a slight, piquant tang. The combination of dark coloring and distinctive flavor will especially appeal to lovers of unusual tomatoes. The fruits are excellent for fresh eating, salads, and vegetable platters.
For successful cultivation, the plants need a sunny location and fertile soil. The tall bushes should be tied to sturdy supports in good time to support the stems and heavy fruit clusters. Regular watering and balanced feeding help promote healthy growth and fruit development. During cultivation, monitor the side shoots and remove excess suckers when necessary.
