GRANDMA VINEY’S YELLOW AND PINK. A mid-season tall variety with an indeterminate growth type, about 1.5 m high. The plant is vigorous, with a well-developed stem and regular foliage, requiring staking and training. The yield is high and stable, especially in the second half of the season. It has good natural disease resistance. Up to 15 fruits weighing 300-450 g were recorded from a single harvest per bush. A family heirloom variety from Grayson County, Kentucky (USA).
The fruits are large, weighing 200-600 g, beefsteak type, flat-round, with slight ribbing in the upper part; in large specimens, the shoulders may be slightly curved. The coloration is striking, multicolored — a combination of orange-red, yellow, and pink shades. The flesh is meaty, marbled, yellow-pink, with a small amount of seeds. The taste is sweet, fruity, practically without acidity, with a bright aroma, distinguished by a high tasting score. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and salads.
