GREAT WHITE + P20, Germany. An unusual indeterminate variety developed by the German breeder Reinhard Kraft. One of the sweetest among white and blue tomatoes. This is a tall, mid-season, high-yielding variety with exceptionally sweet fruits. A newcomer among tomato varieties — another beautiful mid-season gem. It originates from a cross between Great White and OSP P20.
Later, the variety was refined by Canadian breeder Stefan Meier, who brought it to an outstanding level among white-anthocyanin tomato types. According to Stefan, Reinhard Kraft began working with F1 seeds and initiated the selection process. He also actively exchanged seeds with other breeders and producers. There are similar names — for example, “Great White Blues” and “Great White Blue.” Fruit size and shape can also vary.
COLOR & SHAPE
One side of the fruit is ivory-colored, the other is deep blue (shades of purple and brown). All plants in this line, where one of the parents is P-20 (e.g., P-20 + Beauty King), form a central cluster that can hold up to 30 fruits of uniform size. Occasionally, one fruit in the cluster may be very large — up to 800 g. This variety also features such a central truss.
During the description, 15 uniform fruits were counted in the central cluster, but the number can be even higher. The shape of the fruits ranges from slightly flattened to round-flattened. In the second half of the season, colors become more vivid, shoulders intensify in tone, and the taste becomes sweeter. The fruits are dense, meaty, aromatic, non-watery, and richly sweet in flavor. Without a doubt — one of the most striking varieties!
