DWARF KIP’S STRIPES. A dwarf, mid-season tomato variety with regular foliage that attracts attention not only for its compactness but also for its spectacular fruits. The tomatoes of this variety are pink with golden stripes, very attractive in appearance, and ideal for sale or as a gift. The fruits weigh 80-150 grams, are dense, juicy, with rich sweetness and a slight acidity that adds depth and complexity to the flavor. They are distinguished by their excellent marketable appearance and are not prone to cracking, making them convenient for transportation and storage.
The history of the variety is unique: it was created by Craig LeHoullier, who crossed 'Tiger Tom' with 'Dwarf Mr. Snow'. He named the selection after his Maine Coon cat, Kip, and additional work on selecting the best plants was carried out by Susan Oliverson. Bill Minkey prepared the seeds, which were then sent to Mike Dunton for cultivation and release under the Victory Seeds brand. The variety was officially introduced to gardeners and buyers by Victory Seed Company for the 2025 season. The variety will be an excellent choice for gardeners who appreciate compact plants with striking fruit coloration and rich flavor.
