HUGO. A mid-to-late season, indeterminate tomato variety originating from the Czech Republic. The plants are tall, reaching about 1.6 meters in height when grown outdoors. This variety is known for its high yield and exceptionally dense fruits, which, according to many gardeners, are among the firmest of all similar types. When cut or bitten into, they literally crunch — that's how dense their texture is. Seeds are very few.
The fruits are large, elongated, plum-shaped, often with a pointed end. They can grow up to 15 cm long and weigh up to 220 grams. They are bright red both inside and out, with rich, saturated color. The flesh is meaty, moderately juicy, and has a pleasant, well-balanced flavor. Thanks to their firmness and structure, these tomatoes are excellent for processing, preserving, and also for fresh use — especially for slicing, as they hold their shape very well.
