IMMUNE Р-20. Mid-season tomato variety bred by Oleksii Kulyk, obtained from a cross between P-20 and Beauty King. The line was selected over many years from large annual plantings of this combination, gradually stabilized and refined by choosing the most promising plants. For a long time, the breeder used the working name “Immune-73,” highlighting the extraordinary resistance and reliability of this line. The variety’s key feature is its very high resistance to late blight, inherited from the P-20 parent line. The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, with elongated internodes and potato-leaf foliage.
In open ground, the plant usually reaches 1.3-1.5 m. The stems are of medium thickness, strong, and able to carry the weight of the fruit clusters. The foliage is abundant, healthy, and genetically very resilient. The fruits are large, mostly 250-450 g, sometimes even bigger. Each cluster typically sets 3-4 tomatoes. The fruits are meaty, juicy, with a pronounced sweet flavor and dense, sugary flesh. They contain few seed chambers and have a uniform structure. The tomatoes are versatile and ideal for fresh salads, slicing, thick juice, and home cooking.
Even in years with severe late blight outbreaks, the plants remain almost unaffected: only a few small spots may appear on individual leaves, but the overall condition of the plant and crop yield remain intact. The variety also shows resistance to other common tomato diseases. Productivity is stable and moderate, consistently repeated year after year. Thanks to the strong plant structure, good fruit set, and powerful immunity, Immune R-20 performs reliably even in challenging conditions of humid regions and unstable seasons.
