ITALIAN BLUE. An author's variety bred by Italian breeder Silvia Barbero. This is a tall, mid-season, and very high-yielding tomato with a long fruiting period. The plants are indeterminate, vigorous, reaching about 1.6 m in open ground. The bushes actively set fruit and continue to yield throughout the season, making the variety especially valuable for stable harvest collection. The fruits are round-flattened, weighing 150-350 g. The base color is yellow, with expressive anthocyanin shoulders that are particularly beautifully displayed in the sun.
The contrast of the warm yellow hue and dark iridescence gives the fruits a bright and marketable appearance. The flesh is juicy, tender, very sweet, and aromatic. The flavor is harmonious, mild, with a pleasant aftertaste. Thanks to its dense structure and beautiful coloration, the variety is excellent for market sales, impressive slicing in salads and sandwiches. Italian Blue combines decorative appeal, high yield, and excellent taste qualities, remaining attractive both for personal cultivation and commercial use.
