QUEEN MARBENA (KARALIENE MARBENA) – an old Romanian tomato variety. A time-tested cultivar prized for its excellent flavor and culinary versatility. Growth type: indeterminate (tall-growing), requires staking and pruning. Maturity: mid-early (approximately 100-110 days from germination to fruiting). In open ground, it reaches about 1.5 meters, while in a greenhouse, it can grow taller. High-yielding, with proper care, it produces abundantly. The fruit color is deep yellow with a honeyed or orange hue.
The shape is round, slightly flattened, sometimes with mild ribbing. Weight ranges from 150 to 350 grams, with some specimens even larger. The flesh is dense, meaty, juicy, with few seeds. The flavor is exceptionally sweet, well-balanced, and low in acidity, making it perfect for fresh eating. This variety is an excellent choice for those who appreciate natural sweetness and rich tomato flavor, as well as enjoy experimenting with preserves.
