KECSKEMETI-549. A famous variety of Hungarian breeding from the city of Kecskemét, widely used in industrial canning. It is distinguished by high yield and very early ripening with a uniform fruit set. The plant is compact, about 50 cm tall, suitable for open ground and mechanical harvesting. The fruits are red, plum-shaped, uniform, weighing 50-70 g.
The tomatoes are one-dimensional, dense, very fleshy and thick-walled, with a minimal amount of juice. The taste is harmonious, with a pleasant sweetness and almost imperceptible acidity. The variety is versatile in processing: suitable for making sauces, drying, and also ideal for whole-fruit canning.
