KIWANIS, LA KIWANIENNE. A modern Belgian variety obtained by crossing Orange Queen with Noire de Crimée. It was created and developed by a Belgian gardener, a member of the "Jardins de Kiwanis" association. Interesting fact: there are online descriptions of a variety with the same name but with orange fruits — possibly due to breeding variations or identification errors. This variety is rightly considered one of the best in its category.
An early, determinate, and high-yielding tomato variety. The plants are compact, about 80 cm tall even without staking or pruning, making them ideal for open-field cultivation or limited growing space. The variety requires little maintenance, though light pruning can help increase yield. It is known for its impressive productivity — the bushes are covered with fruit.
TOMATO FEATURES:
The fruits ripen simultaneously and very early, making the variety perfect for regions with short growing seasons or for early harvests. The fruits have a unique color: deep green with a bronze tint, sometimes resembling a soft "tan." Each weighs between 150 and 260 grams, with a meaty, uniform shape. Inside is juicy green flesh with a pronounced fruity flavor.
Taste is one of the variety’s greatest strengths. It is sweet, with little acidity, and features fruity notes reminiscent of kiwi or exotic fruits. A subtle aroma makes it ideal for fresh consumption. Taste rating — a solid 5 out of 5. Excellent for salads, juices, and creative sauces. Thanks to its unusual color and rich flavor, it is highly appreciated by gourmets and rare variety collectors.
