KORNEY'S CROSS. The variety was developed by Mark Korney, a well-known breeder famous for creating tomatoes with unique colors and flavors. Indeterminate, mid-season, and very productive tomato with potato-type foliage and a long, extended fruiting period. The plant is strong and forms a sturdy stem, reaching about 1.8-2 meters in open ground. It requires support and regular pruning (suckering) for optimal results.
The fruits are round, rich purple-pink in color with a slight glossy shine—very beautiful and visually appealing. The flesh is dense, meaty, with no hollows, and the fruits rarely crack, even with fluctuations in humidity. They offer a well-balanced sweet tomato flavor with subtle fruity notes. Fruit weight reaches up to 100 grams. It is recommended to form the plant in 1-2 stems for best productivity.
These tomatoes are ideal for fresh consumption, salads, canning, whole-fruit pickling, and sauces. The variety stands out for its high and consistent yields, producing large quantities of fruit over an extended period. Especially appreciated by gardeners for its excellent flavor, marketable appearance, and resistance to cracking. Suitable for cultivation in open ground and greenhouses.
