LA CADERO. A new, excellent, very productive, mid-season variety bred by Bruno Fournier, France. An early variety with anthocyanin pigmentation on the skin. The flesh is dense, distinctly buttery, cuts like butter, juicy, very sweet with a spicy-smoky aftertaste. Visually, it’s also very unusual: besides the typical anthocyanin hues, it’s the first blue variety I’ve seen where the coloration directly depends on sun exposure.
Arguably one of the tastiest varieties of the 2020 year. Even in areas shaded by the stem, the skin doesn’t turn blue-black, remaining pink-red. Unique and mesmerizing! The plant grows up to 1.5 meters tall in open ground, strong with sturdy stems. Each cluster holds 6–7 fruits weighing 250–300 g. High-yielding. Highly recommended — top score in every category! Absolutely loved it!
