LILAC BELL. An early-maturing Dutch variety. Plants are compact, about 60 cm tall, yet strong and vigorous, with good foliage cover and a well-developed root system. Bushes are neat and resilient, but require reliable support as they may lean under the weight of numerous fruit clusters. The fruits are conical, highly attractive in both shape and color. At the technical ripening stage, their skin is chocolate-purple, while at full maturity they turn rich dark cherry-red, making this variety particularly decorative and prized by collectors. Average fruit weight is 150-190 g; they are uniform, firm, and at the same time juicy.
The flesh is tender and succulent, with thick walls (6-7 mm). Flavor is sweet, well-balanced, with pronounced fruity notes, free of bitterness or excessive acidity. Exceptionally juicy, these fruits are excellent for fresh consumption. Thanks to their qualities, the variety is suitable both for home growing and for market production. Yields are high and consistent. A versatile type: perfect for fresh eating, ideal for salads and cold appetizers, and also excellent for whole-fruit pickling and canning.
