LILAC GIANT. A rare tomato variety with Belarusian origins, introduced in the USA in 2002. This is a medium-height, mid-season indeterminate plant with well-developed, strong stems and regular foliage. In open ground, it reaches about 1.4-1.5 meters in height and requires staking and shaping. The fruits are very large, flat-round, beefsteak-type with beautiful ribbing at the top. Average fruit weight is between 300 and 500 grams, with some reaching up to 800 grams.
The skin is rich dark pink with a slight lilac hue. The flesh is meaty and juicy, with a strong tomato aroma and a rich, complex, sweet flavor with old-fashioned notes. Fruits show good resistance to cracking, even in humid conditions. The variety produces regularly and abundantly in the second half of the season. Suitable for open ground and greenhouse cultivation. A true gem for lovers of large, aromatic, and flavorful tomatoes with a historical character.
