GOLDEN QUEEN, LIVINGSTON'S GOLDEN QUEEN. This tomato was developed in the USA by the famous breeder Alexander Livingston in 1882 and has since rightfully been considered one of the finest heirloom yellow tomato varieties. It is a mid-season, indeterminate, tall, and exceptionally productive variety. Plants reach about 1.6 meters in height when grown outdoors and up to 1.8 meters in greenhouses. The plants are vigorous, with a well-developed root system, strong growth, and abundant foliage.
They require staking and pruning. The fruits are round and slightly flattened, medium-sized, smooth, and firm, with a characteristic bright yellow color and a reddish blush on the side, especially when grown in full sun. Fruit weight ranges from 140 to 260 grams. These tomatoes have an outstanding fruity flavor — sweet, very juicy, with a pleasant mild acidity.
The flesh is meaty and tender, making it ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for salads, sauces, juice, or home canning. This variety is very popular among collectors and heirloom tomato enthusiasts due to its beauty, taste qualities, and stable yields. The seeds of this variety were purchased directly from the USA, ensuring authenticity and varietal purity.
