LUC FICHOISE. Indeterminate, mid-season tomato variety of the multiflora type. The plant reaches about 1.5 meters in height in open ground, and significantly taller in greenhouses. It produces impressive, large fan-like flower clusters containing dozens of fruits — a truly spectacular sight. The plant has moderate vigor, with a relatively thin but strong stem. Leaves are simple, not very dense, with the typical tomato shape.
Fruits are pear-shaped, rich yellow-orange in color with a soft pink blush on the sides. Average weight — up to 30 grams. The flesh is remarkably tender, with a fruity flavor and raspberry undertones, sweet, aromatic, and very flavorful. This variety is highly productive, producing abundant fruit sets throughout the season and bearing fruit until the first frosts. It also has strong ornamental appeal both in greenhouses and in open fields.
This tomato has an interesting origin story. It first appeared in 2014 in the garden of collector Jean-Michel Roufianje. It is most likely the result of accidental cross-pollination. The variety was named in honor of Luc Fichoise, a renowned Belgian tomato collector and enthusiast, in memory of his contributions to amateur breeding.
