MAR AZUL. A new handsome variety with a delicate hint of blue (anthocyanin) on the shoulders. The bush reaches 1.3 meters, mid-season. Each cluster bears 4–5 fruits weighing 250–300 grams. Fruits are dense, blue-raspberry tablets, perfectly shaped and crack-free. It’s a mid-early, tall, and very productive variety. This tomato was bred in Spain. Seeds are sold throughout Spain and in the southwest of France. Fruits are pink with purple shoulders.
The fruits are very dense but not hard, meaty, and juicy at the same time. They ripen quite early. The taste is very sweet and delightful. Visually and taste-wise, it's an excellent market variety. The flesh is richly colored, insanely aromatic, with a light fruity note and a melting flavor. They are very juicy, sweet, and delicious! One of the favorites of the 2021 season.
