MAURICIO. A variety from the collection of Liudmila Kodzasova. A mid-season, productive variety with a strong, spreading plant. In the open field, the plant grows to approximately 1.6 m in height. The trusses are well filled, usually producing 6–8 fruits each. The average fruit weight is 100–150 g, while individual fruits can reach 250 g. The yield is above average. The fruits are very attractive, round and flattened, resembling small beefsteaks or perfectly even “tablets.” The tomatoes have an almost ideal shape and excellent uniformity, with fruits that are very consistent in appearance. The main fruit color is a rich pink-crimson.
They are firm, transport well, have good keeping quality and can maintain their attractive appearance and quality for a long time. The shoulders develop a pronounced anthocyanin coloration, giving the tomatoes a particularly striking and unusual appearance. The bright and attractive coloring immediately makes these fruits stand out. When cut open, the tomatoes have beautiful red-crimson flesh. It is very meaty, aromatic and juicy, with a pronounced fruity note. The flavor is rich, sweet and spicy, with a pleasant combination of sweetness and a slight acidity. When fully ripe, the fruits become almost completely sweet, while the fruity notes become especially pronounced.
