MEDFORD. A late, determinate, high-yielding tomato variety known since the early 1960s. This variety was developed in the USA and is rightfully considered a true classic among compact tomato types. It is characterized by stable productivity and excellent flavor, despite its late ripening period. The plants are compact, about 50-60 cm tall, with a sturdy stem and well-developed root system. Suitable for open ground cultivation, as well as under plastic covers and in greenhouses.
This tomato is easy to grow and resistant to most common tomato diseases. Fruits are neat, round or slightly flattened, weighing from 100 to 200 grams. The skin is dense, glossy, and deep red, resistant to cracking. The fruits are highly marketable and transport well. The flesh is meaty, firm, and nearly dry — an excellent choice for fresh consumption, slicing, canning, or processing.
The taste is rich, intense, and well-balanced — especially impressive for a determinate variety. Although ripening begins late, the high yield compensates for the wait: one plant can produce a large number of tomatoes. This variety is especially valued for its combination of visual appeal, great taste, and ease of cultivation. The first seeds of this variety were purchased by us in the USA, ensuring its authenticity and high quality.
