MEHMET. A mid-season Turkish tomato variety known for its high yield and excellent fruit quality. The plants are sturdy, compact, and standard-type, reaching about 50 cm in height. They produce abundant crops and a large number of attractive tomatoes. This variety stands out not only for its productivity but also for the excellent marketable appearance of its harvest. The fruits are red, smooth, and predominantly round or plum-shaped. An interesting feature of this variety is that tomatoes of different shapes can develop on the same plant. The average fruit weight is around 100–120 g, while some specimens reach 150 g. The flesh is pink, meaty, and multi-chambered, with a pleasantly firm texture.
The variety is valued for its abundant fruiting and high-quality tomatoes. The fruits are well suited for fresh salads, slicing, and home cooking. Thanks to their meaty flesh and pleasant sweetness, they taste especially good when eaten fresh. The tomatoes hold well on the plants and, according to the variety description, are not prone to cracking or rotting. The compact plants are easy to grow in garden beds and greenhouses. For healthy development, choose a sunny location with fertile soil and provide regular watering. Timely feeding is beneficial during active growth and fruit formation. Despite the reported disease resistance, it is important to monitor the plants and follow basic growing practices.
