MICRO DWARF FLORIDA PETITE. An ultra-early dwarf tomato variety, ideal for growing in pots, on windowsills, balconies, and loggias. This is one of the most compact and convenient varieties for container culture. The plant is determinate, of micro-dwarf type, only 15-40 cm (6-16 inches) tall, usually not exceeding 30 cm. The bush is compact, neat, and does not require shaping or pruning. Due to its miniature size, the variety is excellent for growing in small containers, hanging baskets, and decorative pots. The variety was developed in the early 1980s by the University of Florida and quickly became popular due to its compactness and high productivity.
It is particularly well-suited for hydroponic, aeroponic, and other closed growing systems. The fruits are small, round, 2.5-4 cm (1-1.5 inches) in diameter, weighing 15-25 g. The color is bright red, attractive. The tomatoes are juicy, with a pleasant sweet-sour taste and good aroma. Despite the plant's compactness, the yield is high — the bush produces a large number of fruits. The ripening period is about 60-70 days from emergence, making the variety ultra-early and convenient for year-round indoor cultivation. Florida Petite is the ideal choice for those who want to grow real tomatoes even in limited spaces, getting a stable harvest of delicious cherries right on the windowsill.
