MICRO DWARF HARDIN’S MINIATURE. This micro-dwarf is a truly unique plant! The flavor of the tomatoes is sweet and tangy, well-balanced, with a light fruity note. The plant reaches only 15-20 cm in height, making it one of the smallest tomato varieties in the world. Despite its tiny size, the plant is absolutely loaded with fruits — elongated, smooth, glossy tomatoes weighing between 10 and 25 grams.
Surprisingly, there are more tomatoes on the plant than leaves, giving it a decorative and even surreal appearance. The foliage and stems grow in a curly, wavy manner, making the little bush look fluffy and frizzy. This makes the variety not only a charming vegetable crop but also an attractive ornamental plant, ideal for growing in pots on windowsills or balconies.
VARIETY HISTORY
An American selection from the mid-20th century. The first recorded mention dates back to 1965, when M. Hardin donated the seeds to the Iowa State Department of Agriculture. The plant was officially described in 1969 in the USDA Plant Inventory Catalog in Washington, D.C. Since then, the variety has become a true gem for collectors and fans of rare dwarf tomatoes.
