ORANGE RUSSIAN 117 (USA). This is a mid-season variety with bright, bicolor, and strikingly contrasting flesh. The plant is compact, reaching 1.2 to 1.5 meters in height when grown outdoors, and produces 3-4 fruits per cluster. Mine weighed around 200-250 grams, though some sources mention much larger specimens.
The fruits are heart-shaped, and their form can vary on the same plant — from blunt to elegantly elongated. The skin is orange with red marbling distributed across the entire surface. The taste is delicate, with a dominant sweetness and barely noticeable acidity. The flesh is dense and juicy, with small seed cavities. The yield is above average.
