OZARK SUNSET. A medium-sized indeterminate variety about 1.2 m high. It was bred by Steve Whitaker (DoubleHelix Farm, USA). It is distinguished by high yield and a long fruiting period. The plant has good development and regular foliage, requiring staking. The fruits are round, weighing 60-130 g. The coloration is striking: a neon-pink background with purple-blue marbling, most pronounced on the shoulders. Some plants may show color variations (e.g., yellow-blue fruits), which is characteristic of certain blue-fruited varieties.
It should be noted that the blue coloration appears before full ripeness, so to achieve the best flavor, it is advisable to leave the fruits on the vine until fully ripe. The flesh is dense and juicy. The taste is sweet, balanced, ranging from very good to excellent. The skin is thin, and there may be a tendency to crack with excessive humidity. The variety is valued for its ornamental appeal and is suitable for fresh consumption.
