POLTAVA GALUSHKA, Ukraine. Ultra-fast growing, high-yielding variety for open field cultivation. Determinate, sturdy bush, 30-40 cm high. Clusters contain 5-7 fruits. The fruits are beautiful, heart-shaped with slight ribbing, orange in color, weighing 100-130 g, tasty, and rich in β-carotene. Suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.
The variety is highly resistant to common diseases. Some dishonest sellers in Ukraine also sell this excellent variety under the name "Lukum", falsely claiming it to be of Turkish origin. While other varieties are still ripening, Poltava Galushka is already delighting with harvests from early July.
Ultra-early, medium-density, with 4-6 fruits per cluster. Bright orange heart-shaped fruits weighing 170-180 grams provide a generous yield on a bush just 0.6 meters tall. Not a single crack! Delicious, aromatic, with dense, juicy sweet-and-sour flesh.
INTRODUCTION TO POLTAVA GALUSHKA:
One of the varieties that participated in this season’s experiment. 50 varieties were selected and sown directly into the ground without seedlings, and quite late — on May 1. The main criteria for varieties in the experiment were that they had to be short and standard (bush-type), which I call “field varieties,” meaning: plant and forget!
Field varieties are resistant to heat, lack of water, weeding, staking, and so on. These are the kinds you plant at your summer house and visit once a week to harvest. After all, not everyone has time for daily tomato care. Typically, they are short or bushy types up to 1 m tall. All varieties from this series are presented on the website — choose the ones that suit you best. We’re always happy to help!
