RED APPLE FROM MONTPELLIER (POMME ROUGE DE MONTPELLIER). A mid-season, tall-growing, and high-yielding tomato variety originating from the Montpellier region in France, known since 1790 and considered one of the oldest French tomato varieties. In open ground conditions, plants reach up to 1.8 meters in height, forming strong, robust, and well-leafed bushes. The fruits of this variety are small, weighing between 80 and 130 grams, bright red in color without any spots, and have a classic marketable appearance.
These tomatoes are juicy, with dense flesh and small cavities in the seed chambers. The taste is rich, spicy, with a slight acidity characteristic of traditional heirloom tomatoes. Additionally, the fruits have a very pleasant aroma that enhances the overall flavor experience. Occasionally, partial splitting of fruits may occur, which is a characteristic feature of this variety and does not affect its quality.
Interestingly, some plants may produce fruits with an unusual red-yellow-orange coloration, but otherwise, they do not differ from typical tomatoes of this variety. This variety has been preserved and passed down through generations, and the seeds were obtained directly from France, ensuring authenticity and preservation of all unique qualities of this traditional variety.
