PORTERHOUSE. A very large, high-yielding beefsteak-type tomato, designed for those who appreciate truly massive, meaty fruits. The plant is strong and vigorous, typically reaching about 150 cm in height, with a thick stem and well-leaved clusters. It features increased resistance to common tomato diseases and consistently produces fruit every season, even under less-than-ideal weather conditions. The fruits are among the largest and densest of all giant tomatoes. Pink-red, very meaty, buttery-dense in texture, with a small number of seeds.
The taste is rich and balanced, with pronounced sweetness and a full tomato aroma, without the watery texture typical of many large-fruited varieties. With proper pruning and care, the variety reaches its full potential. Leaving only a few flowers per plant allows the fruits to reach a record weight of up to 1.8 kg, sometimes even more. Excellent for fresh salads, slicing, juices, and sauces, where density and concentrated flavor are essential.
