PUNTA BANDA. The seeds of this variety were originally collected on the picturesque Punta Banda Peninsula in Baja California by Jay Catts, giving it a unique origin and adaptation to diverse climatic conditions. It is an early tomato variety of medium height, making it suitable for cultivation both outdoors and in protected environments. Under natural conditions, the plants reach a height of about one meter, allowing efficient use of garden space.
The plants are determinate with dense, compact foliage and are notable for high yield and consistent fruiting. Due to their density, the bushes produce hundreds of bright red cherry tomatoes, each weighing between 25 and 30 grams. The fruits have a meaty texture, juicy flesh, and a firm but fairly thick skin that protects them from damage and extends shelf life.
The flavor qualities of this variety deserve special attention: the tomatoes have a well-balanced taste, harmoniously combining sweetness with a slight tartness, making them versatile for fresh consumption as well as culinary uses — in salads, appetizers, or sauces. Thanks to its characteristics, this variety is perfect for those who value quality, high yield, and excellent taste all in one.
