RAWLINGS. Mid-season, tall, and exceptionally productive variety, widely recognized as one of the best in its category. A family heirloom from the Rawlings family of Kentucky, USA, it has been passed down through generations while preserving its outstanding qualities. Plants develop strong, highly branched bushes with large potato leaves that provide excellent protection for the fruits from sun and heat. Plant height in open ground is about 1.5-1.7 m.
Fruits are large, uniform in size, weighing from 300 to 600 g, and can be even larger under favorable conditions. They are round with light, neat ribbing near the stem. The skin is dense, making the fruits resistant to cracking. The flesh is meaty, moderately juicy, with a rich sweet flavor and pleasant aroma. Flavor quality is rated at 5 points, while productivity confidently deserves 5+.
In the West, this tomato is especially valued for its excellent taste, attractive appearance, and large fruit size, often described as exceeding the usual standards. In our climate, during the 2022 season, unfavorable weather reduced the weight of some fruits compared to expectations, yet even in this challenging year, the variety delivered a stable and impressive harvest. Recommended for open-ground cultivation.
