HOLY MARIA (SANTA MARIA). A family heirloom. A variety of red heart tomato brought by an Italian immigrant to Niagara County, Western New York. The fruits are elongated-plum or heart-shaped, glossy, and deep red. Meaty, juicy, very tasty, sweet – a full 5 out of 5. Disease-resistant. We've been growing this tomato for over 10 years, and it always delivers excellent results. A mid-early variety shaped like a bright red, firm, large plum.
The plant grows to 1.6 m, with 3-5 fruits per cluster weighing 290-330 grams. Undeniably very productive. Crack-resistant, no green shoulders, perfect commercial appearance. Inside – dense, buttery, and very aromatic flesh, sweet and juicy. Great for fresh use and canning. One of the tastiest and sweetest plums in the collection! Top marks across all criteria!
