SHAMIL. A mid-season Turkish tomato variety known for its exceptionally high yield and uniform fruit ripening. The plants are compact, standard-type bushes, reaching about 60 cm in height, with sturdy, substantial growth. During the fruiting period, they produce a large number of tomatoes, placing considerable weight on the branches. Without support, the bushes may bend over and spread across the ground under the weight of the harvest.
The fruits are round, sometimes slightly elongated, with smooth, glossy skin in a rich red color. The average fruit weight is approximately 90–150 g. The flesh is firm and meaty, with few seeds. The skin and internal partitions are fairly thick, helping the fruits retain their shape. The tomatoes look neat and attractive, with a pleasant, classic tomato flavor.
This variety is especially valued for its abundant fruiting and concentrated harvest. The firm, meaty fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, salads, and a variety of homemade dishes. Their low seed content and dense texture also make them useful for processing and preparing sauces.
The low-growing bushes are suitable for garden beds and do not require complicated pruning. However, because they produce so many fruits, it is advisable to provide support to prevent the branches from resting on the ground under the weight of the crop. For good fruit production, choose a sunny location with fertile soil and water the plants regularly.
