SUMMERTIME WINE. An early-ripening, medium-height, very productive tomato variety with increased resistance to diseases. Bred by Bill Jeffers through crossing the famous Cherokee Purple with the hybrid Summerpink F1. Notable for its reliable fruit set even under unfavorable conditions and its ability to produce high yields with minimal care. In open ground, the plant reaches 1.2-1.3 m, forming a compact, well-leafed bush. It is best trained into 2-3 stems; staking and pruning are necessary. Fruits are flat-round, neat, and very attractive.
The color is rich purple with a velvety hue, making the tomatoes look especially striking both in the garden and in a basket. Average fruit weight ranges from 200 to 350 g, though under good conditions some fruits may be considerably larger. The flesh is dense and meaty, yet tender and juicy. The flavor is rich, harmonious, very sweet, with pronounced fruity notes and a lingering aftertaste. Excellent for fresh use in salads and sandwiches, as well as for sauces, juices, and fragrant tomato paste.
