SUN BUNNIES. A wonderful early cherry tomato variety with abundant multi-flowered clusters, bred by A. I. Kulik from the Sumy region. The plant shows excellent potential and vigor! In open ground, the bush reaches the tying level at 2.0 meters, breaks through the netting, and continues to grow actively. At 0.5 meters from the ground, pruning of side shoots was stopped, so the upper part of the bush is formed by 3-4 stems.
The number of clusters and the amount of set fruits on each is astonishing! They are spread all over the plant, and unlike most multi-fruited varieties, almost every flower turns into a fruit. A long-lasting and steady harvest throughout the entire season. Clusters set frequently during the whole growing period! A few bushes can easily provide you with a supply of canned cherry tomatoes.
SUN BUNNIES – PLANT AND FRUITS
The plant is strong and sturdy, with thick, powerful stems. Each cluster has 25 to 40 fruits weighing 20–25 g. The plant is completely covered with fruit (visible in the photo). The fruits are yellow-golden with a slight pink shimmer, plum-shaped with a distinct pointed tip, 3–4 cm long. If overripe, they may drop from the plant, so harvesting should be done regularly.
Cross-sections show two seed chambers. The skin is moderately dense. The fruits are perfect for canning. Taste: meaty, moderately juicy, sweet without excess, and nearly acid-free. Top marks for hyper productivity! Highly recommended as one of the most prolific varieties we’ve encountered! The shop also has other yellow cherry types.
