SUNKISSED PEACH DWARF. A new mid-season variety, a dwarf type developed from the cross Pit Viper*Salli. The plant is compact, with bright light-green foliage, densely leafed, low-maintenance, and does not produce excess side shoots. Plant height — approximately 0.6 m. The fruits are elongated, resembling heart-shaped plums, bicolored: yellow as the base with a rosy-raspberry blush on the sides, very attractive in appearance.
The fruit clusters are large, each containing 4–5 tomatoes weighing around 100 g. Yield is above average. Fruits ripen simultaneously. When cut, the tomato is meaty, aromatic, very juicy, with a thin skin and a sweet-and-sour flavor. It is recommended to allow full ripening until the pink blush appears — only then the fruit develops its full sweetness.
SMALL TOMATOES:
"Gnome tomatoes" are dwarf varieties of tomatoes that feature compact growth and small fruits. They are perfect for growing in limited spaces, such as pots on a balcony or hanging baskets. Here are some key characteristics and growing tips for gnome tomatoes:
- Size and fruits: Gnome tomatoes typically grow to about 20-40 cm in height. The fruits are small, often 2-5 cm in diameter, but they can be very tasty.
- Variety selection: There are many gnome tomato varieties, including "Cherry," "Little Tomatoes," "Tomatitos," and others. Choose a variety based on taste preferences and fruit color.
- Planting and care: Gnome tomatoes are grown similarly to other tomatoes. They need a well-lit spot with direct sunlight. Keep watering moderate and provide support for the plants, as the fruits can be quite heavy for the branches.
- Soil and fertilizers: Use fertile soil or special tomato soil for planting. Regularly fertilize the plants with micronutrient and mineral-rich fertilizers.
- Pruning and shaping: If necessary, prune side shoots to manage the plant’s growth. Also, remove lower leaves to ensure good air circulation and prevent fruit from touching the soil.
- Support: Due to the small size of the plants and their fruits, some gnome tomato varieties may require support. Use small frames or stands to support the plants.
- Harvesting: Gnome tomatoes ripen quickly. They are ready for harvesting when they acquire a bright color and detach easily from the stem.
