SWALLOW. A medium-early sweet pepper variety of Moldovan selection, notable for its high ornamental value and good productivity. This variety is ideal for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, thanks to its compact shape and resistance to adverse weather conditions. The plant is a semi-spreading, stem-type bush, reaching 45-60 cm in height. This bush shape facilitates plant care, harvesting, and allows more compact planting without losing productivity.
Leaves are medium-sized, rich green, forming a neat canopy that protects the fruits from direct sunburn. The fruits are conical, light green at the technical ripeness stage and bright red when biologically mature, attracting attention with their vibrant color. Fruit weight reaches up to 100 g, with wall thickness up to 7 mm, making them meaty and juicy. These features provide excellent taste and versatility in culinary use.
The “Swallow” variety is suitable for fresh consumption, highly appreciated in salads and snacks, and is perfect for home canning – pickling, stuffing, and making lecho. The growing period from seedling to technical maturity is about 120 days, ensuring a stable harvest throughout the season. The variety is characterized by uniform fruit set and resistance to common sweet pepper diseases.
