TAIGA, Canada. New variety of 2019 from Karen Olivier. A highly anticipated variety from Karen Olivier, developed as part of the "True North" series. The parents of this star variety are the varieties Pink Heart of Ludmila and Captain Lucky. One of the tastiest varieties of the season, with a fantastic sweet taste, large bicolor hearts with very bright honey flesh inside! Medium-early, high-yielding variety with potato-type leaves. Excellent harvest throughout the season, until the first frosts. Beautiful three-colored fruits, meaty, dense, moderately juicy, multi-chambered, with a small amount of seeds.
The taste is wonderful, rich, sweet-spicy, with fruity notes — a 5++ score, and a rich sweet fragrance. A charming variety. Excellent taste. One of the best varieties of the season in the planting year. Early bicolor with flattened heart shape, heavy fruits weighing 650-750g, no small ones at all. The color of the tomatoes is unusual, multicolored, changing depending on ripeness: olive, bronze, purple, and brown hues appear alongside the ripening green fruit. In the cross-section — amazing colors, bright and unreal, an incredible combination of raspberry center and green-bronze background!
But the main thing is not even this — it’s the taste! This is one of the sweetest and juiciest varieties we have! The flesh has an intense spicy aroma, rich and buttery. Insanely sweet with a vivid fruity flavor. By the way, out of five plants — three had potato-type leaves, while two had simple leaves. The fruits, however, were the same in all parameters. Apparently, this is a leaf split. A top score in all criteria! Highly recommended!
