TAMARINDO MULTICOLOR. The origin of the variety is unknown. A medium-tall, early-ripening, and very productive tomato variety. In open ground, plants reach a height of about 1.2 meters, forming strong, compact bushes with regular foliage. The plants are well-leafed, which allows the fruits to develop evenly and remain protected from sunscald. Maturity comes in 75-80 days after transplanting. The fruits are elongated, plum-shaped with a distinct pointed tip. Each truss sets up to 10 fruits, with an average weight of 15-20 g, though they appear larger visually.
The coloration is striking: chocolate-purple-red skin with bright green longitudinal stripes. The flesh is dense and firm, pleasantly crunchy when bitten. The flavor is balanced, sweet, with fresh brightness and a light fruity note. The tomatoes are versatile but especially well-suited for whole-fruit canning — they look very decorative in jars. The variety is notable for its long shelf life: harvested fruits can be stored for a long time without losing taste or market quality, making it ideal for transport and commercial use.
