TAXI. A highly productive tomato variety from the USA. A fixed type, which is believed to have been created within the Occidental Arts & Ecology Seed Saving Program (USA). The fruits are lemon-yellow, varying in shape — they can be round, noticeably elongated, or slightly flattened. Interestingly, all three forms often appear on the same cluster. The peduncle attachment is shallow, while the blossom scar is marked by a tiny dot. Contains 3-5 seed chambers.
The flavor is sweet and refreshing. The flesh is dense and juicy. We first grew this variety ten years ago, and in 2014 it returned to us from Canada, allowing us to once again evaluate its stable qualities under different growing conditions. The plants form compact, well-leafed bushes, heavily loaded with fruits, giving them a particularly decorative look. The fruits are bright, attractive, medium-sized, weighing between 70 and 140 g.
They have a pleasant taste: not overly sweet, yet aromatic and juicy. This variety is versatile — excellent for both fresh salads and canning. Yields are very high: even with minimal care, the bushes produce an impressive number of fruits, and the harvest is consistently abundant. In open ground, the plants reach 50-60 cm, easily carrying the fruit load, making them ideal for home gardens.
