TERHUNE. The variety was discovered by a gardener from the USA named Tom K. (Tom K.) in November 2007 on the property of a 90-year-old woman who had been growing tomatoes for decades. Frozen fruits had survived on abandoned plants in pots, and seeds were collected from them. The variety was named after the surname of the house owners. A tall variety reaching up to 1.8 m, mid-season and highly productive. The plant is indeterminate, vigorous, and requires staking and training.
It is characterized by reliable fruit set and abundant fruiting. The fruits are medium to large, weighing 200–450 g, multi-chambered, with a small number of seeds. The coloration is rich and attractive. The flesh is firm, meaty, and very juicy. The flavor is sweet, harmonious, and rich. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption and salads and is valued for its combination of high productivity and excellent taste.
